BIOGRAPHY
At 28 years old, Paul has had to date, 4 singles and two albums released under his own name of Paul Foxton. The first track Reason to Live was a limited edition and Make ConneXions was made through the funding of the ConneXions initiative. The front man of Urban Reality, but also a solo singer in his own right, Paul has written and amassed a number of songs which have been widely acclaimed by his contemporaries. The ConneXions single was limited to a run of 500 and people snapped copies up and demand exceeded the supply. So far, the EXPOSED SOUL album, a collection of Paul’s first studio recorded songs is receiving great reviews from fans and music people alike. People who have given him encouragement and words of praise vary from strangers he’s met on the internet to local bands and the likes of pop supremo John Parr. Paul is a determined and talented individual and is currently working on touring his material and generating more interest. Urban Reality is on hiatus at present, but plans are in the pipeline for an album from them too. Song writing for both acts is a challenging task, as Paul’s solo pop career and Urban Reality’s Indie slant are two very different styles. Paul says, ‘I think that writing in different genres is good for me, and can prove I’m not just one of those artists who can only write the same stuff over and over again. I’m willing to try new things, take on board criticism and develop my music. At the end of the day I want to fulfil a dream and I hope I can do that.’
Now he has his first album done and dusted, Paul is looking for other avenues to stretch his musical legs. ‘I would like to try and do this and go as far as I can,’ says Paul, ‘… and I would like to try working with new people, try different styles and develop myself as a performer. I’d like to do pop, but if I can’t I’d like to do something more rockier’.
More recently Paul has recorded a Christmas single for 2005 which was received well and is finishing off his second album, Seasons Four.
